name is Kelly Martin, owner and operator of Kelly Martin Photography. I am a wife, a mother, a runner, a golfer, a country girl, a CPA, and a professional photographer. I was born and raised in Northwest Indiana, attended Ball State University, and moved to Indianapolis after graduation to work in the world of public accounting. I met my husband on a cruise to the Western Caribbean (he’s from Indianapolis too – crazy story) and we have since added to our family with our two silly boys, Louis and Nicholas and our beautiful (and fiesty) daughter Eden. My love for photography began when I was young and took photography as a project for several years in 4-H. Motherhood has allowed me to be the photographer I want to be – I could never do this job without my children as they have instilled in me the patience and the know-how to deal with my kid clients. I relate. I understand. Most importantly, I have fun with them. My education and initial trade out of college was business and accounting-based, but I always had a creative and crafty side. Kelly Martin Photography combines both of those worlds and I LOVE it. Photo credit: Amanda Goodin Photography
Hi! I am a natural light Family, Maternity, and Newborn Photographer based in Denver, Colorado and serving Denver and the surrounding areas. While editing I’m usually watching The Office or Schitt’s Creek. My husband thinks I’m crazy for how many times I’ve restarted the whole series (both of them)- it’s not my fault he doesn’t know what good TV is. I grew up in Indiana before moving to Chicago after college. My husband and I moved to Denver, New York, back to Indy, and now back to Denver! We love to travel every chance we get. I love the outdoors and exploring new cities and countries. I’m obsessed with dogs, I have two of my own at home. If you have a dog, PLEASE BOOK A SESSION! I’ll try not to steal it when I leave. OH and I also love babies. I love photographing babies, holding babies, all the baby things. My job is the best- I get to hold all of the sweet babies, but then hand them right back over when they start to cry. “Love ya’ baby, but here’s your mom!”
Client: Hard Truth Distilling – Web – Instagram Project: Bottle and cocktail marketing imagery Project Location: Studio & Location Execution: In another life I was a phenomenal bartender. This life no so much.. I do love a great cocktail, but the imagination and flavor pairing know how are not sticking with me. There are just too many options! When Hard Truth asked to shoot their spirits with cocktails pairings I was over the moon. A chance to work with a killer distillery and learn from awesome bartenders, heck yea! We made A TON of cocktails, many of which I’ve forgotten, but all superb. Personally I fell in love with the gin, but you just need to go try some yourself. Photos you see in this post were split between my studio and virtualy all of the Big Woods restaurants and one stylist kitchen. Long story short, all we need are a few props and the room to setup my lights and we can get killer marketing product shots just about anywhere! The key behind these shots were the supporting elements. Having the right surfaces to add to the image without being too distracting, adding the right amount of height to a cup or bottle when needed, and the right ingredients to showcase some of the cocktail flavor profiles. The goal was to make tasty enough images that you would want to dig in a little deeper to find the recipe or order one yourself at a Big Woods Venue.
I’m so proud to be part of such a talented community of Indianapolis Photographers after years of wander(lust)ing this country and living coast to coast. Having spent my childhood in Rhode Island exploring tide pools and the Newport mansions, then my adolescent and early-adult years in Michigan (go Mitten State!). I’m grateful for the career opportunities that have taken me to Montana, Colorado, California, and now let me call Indy home. My husband, our pups, and my family are the most important things in my life. I love all things fall, overuse exclamation marks because I just am that excited about life, and am enamored with Christmas and the feeling it instills in people. I know nothing about makeup, rarely brush my hair (curly hair lets me get away with this), think donuts are magical, and don’t drink coffee (I know, right!?). I believe sunshine heals, the ocean is therapeutic, and there isn’t a bad day that can’t be cured with sushi… a cupcake… or both! I know everyone has a different story about how they came into photography. For me, my mom set a strong example for me as a kid of what documenting memories and photographing family looked like. We never had photos professionally done (unless you count Sears studio photos in the early 90’s) so I grew up thinking every family had a built in photographer-mom. My grandma gave me my first point-and-shoot film camera when I was still in the single digits, and I spent my teenage years lusting after my Mom’s 35mm. I went to college to study art education and it was only natural that my concentration be in photography. I graduated, got a teaching job, and spent the next 10 years mentoring teenagers in various educational settings. During a goal setting activity in 2011, while demonstrating an activity for the program I was facilitating, I wrote down on a post-it note that I was going to be a photographer. I didn’t take it all that seriously, at first, but later made a verbal commitment to give photography a full-time try within the next 5 years. Of course, at the time, I had no business experience outside of the few sessions and weddings I had shot for friends, but I figured 5 years would be a comfortable cushion to figure it all out.

I’m Stacy Able, a professional photographer based in Indianapolis, Indiana. My passion for photography began with my Bachelor’s of Science degree from Clemson University in Graphic Communications. I specialize in local and destination weddings and have captured over 350+ celebrations. My photography assignments have taken me from right here in Indy My photography assignments have taken me from Illinois, California, Washington State, North Carolina, Florida, and New York along with international destinations such as: Guatemala, Italy, Mexico, Canada, and the Dominican Republic. My style can be described as romantic and timeless enhanced with some modern and photojournalistic influences. I use various Nikon and Sony digital cameras to tell your story. My work has been published in local and national publications such as The New York Times, The Knot, Indianapolis Monthly, and online with Style Me Pretty, and Martha Stewart Weddings. You can see some of those features on my published page. Originally a California military brat, I ended up in Indiana because I met a tall bearded man with a big heart at the Bloomington Farmers market. Walter broke the ice by starting a conversation with my chihuahua, Lola. From that day forward, our relationship grew into a love story full of farmers markets, dogs, and volunteering together in Guatemala. In 2007, Walter proposed at the Casa Santo Domingo in Antigua, Guatemala, where we were married on November 1, 2008. We chose to wed in Central America as we wanted our Guatemalan “family” with that we’ve volunteered and lived with to attend. You can see a few of our wedding images here: Guatemala Destination Wedding. When not photographing weddings, food, and other portraits, you can find me with my Barbet (french water dog) pack. I also enjoy cooking ambitious foodie delicacies, traveling, and volunteering with my Love on a Leash therapy dog Gaia. Walter is the president of a non-profit organization Seeds of Help (www.seedsofhelp.org) which provides grassroots development in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. I am fortunate to donate my skills to bring awareness to the Mayan woman and children in this region. My most recent trip to Guatemala was to document a hair cutting class which was featured in Pattern Magazine (pages 83-87).
